I wanted to start a thread for teams in the UK who are struggling with Access to Work claims at the moment. Lots of teams are reporting challenges with claiming Access to Work. Teams are also sharing information on guidance provided by Access to Work offers.

I would be great for teams to use this thread to share this news or to collectively problem solve issues. i will keep an eye on the thread and give updates as I receive them.

Hi,
Thanks for starting this thread Lily. Our biggest challenge lately has been around waiting for many months to receive agreement letters. This has been followed up by both Supported Employment provider and Education partner. What has helped is lodging a complaint, this has led to a resolution for some of these situations, but not all as yet. With delayed agreement letters Access to Work have confirmed that we will need to include an accompanying letter to ensure that these are processed in case they miss the deadline.
We are also eagerly awaiting the guidance from the DWP around claiming during lockdown and with guidance into the new academic year.
Many thanks,
Bryony

Bryony, Thanks for this. I believe that many of the AtW operatives at the DWP have been redeployed to other areas and this has led to a back log. I agree that lodging a complaint seems to speed up their responses. If anyone is keen to go down this route the complaints email address is: atw.complaintsresolutionteam@dwp.gov.uk.
