Department rotation tasks suggestions

I was wondering if there are any PS sites that have interns in there IT/IS department. If so, what tasks/duties do the interns have in the department? We have one intern that we feel would be a good fit in IT, but are seeking some task ideas and advice before going to the Department to inquire about placing an intern. Thanks in advance for your time and suggestions.

We had an intern in the IT department last year. Some of the things he did was assemble and/or disassemble computers, monitors, and printers. He also learned how to trouble shoot printer issues. This particular intern became skilled at taking off the back of a laptop with a tiny screwdriver that his supervisor did not always have the patience to do  We did find that there was a lot of shadowing because he did not have the skill set to fix software issues, but he got to interact with different people and departments all over the whole hospital. As the rotation developed, he made deliveries independently.
