Project SEARCH Host Hiring Policies

Is anyone at a host business that hires Project SEARCH interns for a position open to the general public that would typically say the position requires a college diploma but have now added the Project SEARCH program as an equivalent to the education requirement?

Hi Helen, I am not sure if I spoke to you about this already, but the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (the Education Centre is our host site) included "Project SEARCH Certificate" to their employment posting for a caretaking position in the board. It is open to the public. We're hoping that more businesses follow as they become familiar with the program.

We have our host site of Health Sciences North in Sudbury that requires a Ontario Secondary School Diploma. They are considering Project Search as equivalent.
