Last spring when we were sent home to do virtual learning, we had all our interns complete the Food Handling Certificate. My school board paid for the registration fees and we supported interns through synchronous google meets in smaller groups of 2 or 3 to help them learn the material. I worked with the Food Handling company to create an accommodation such that an adult could sit beside the intern when they wrote the quiz to help read all the questions and multiple choice answers. It was a huge success-- we have all but one student pass (he actually chose not to participate). We now have two interns hired in Food Services here at the Hospital and the Food Handling Certificate is one of the requirements.
