We were suppose to hold interviews today, March 24th, but our school system is shut down until May 15th.

What are you doing about the interviews for candidates for next year?

Video conferencing is a great way to conduct interviews. Please share..... What worked ? What would you do differently? Did you send the questions before hand to the intern?
Thanks
Cindy

There are 2 main parts to the "Interview":
PART 1-We have decided to hold interviews two ways- letting the applicants choose which way he/she wants to do it. One way is for the applicant to prepare a pre-recorded video, answering interview questions and submitting that to the selection committee with a short phone chat with that applicant after the video is reviewed by the committee. The applicant will be able to use photos, written answers, a whiteboard and help from a trusted person to coach them through it or any other accommodation. The second way is for the applicant to arrange a Live Zoom or FaceTime Interview with the selection committee. The applicant will have 10 questions the committee will give ahead of time. The applicant can use the same accommodations.
PART 2- The applicants will do a pre-recorded Skills Assessment. They will be given 5 skills tasks and directions for each. They will choose 2 of the skills tasks to execute and record and send to the committee. The 5 skills tasks are: Clerical-alphabetizing folders; Patient Services-addressing, folding and stuffing envelopes to patients; Environmental Services-Wiping a table, putting on gloves; Nutrition-Setting a table to a specific diagram; Patients beds-Making a bed at home.

Thanks so much for sharing this Laura! Your team has come up with some great ideas! I really appreciate that you are creating multiple options so that applicants with technology access or other challenges can participate in a way that will work for them. Thanks to your team for the creative problem solving and flexibility. Please keep us all posted on how things go smile
