Hi Lisa, Hope you’re staying warm up there in Alaska. In the resource guide, I1j, there’s a list of questions for interviewing managers to use as a guide. That might work. |

Update on Marcy’s question. Katherine has agreed to create a curriculum that we can give to all Project SEARCH sites. We’re very excited. We’re currently writing grants to fund the cost - $50,000.00. If anyone knows of any business interested in underwriting the cost please let us know. |

I am working with a school district in Canada who is interested in Project SEARCH. They would like to talk to some folks who are involved in Project SEARCH in a small town or rural area. Anyone willing to chat? If so, I'll look up your email and forward to Eve Minuk in British Columbia. Many thanks, Erin |

Selection Day Tasks

Hi Adam, I know I'm a bit late. sorry about that. Couple of ideas. Environmental Services: put on gloves, clean a sink according to a set procedure, use a vacuum to sweep an area with glitter or paper confetti Nutrition services: Have a breakfast menu that someone has chosen. Next to that set an empty patient tray and multiple food items. For example, the menu says orange juice - next to the tray sit containers of orange juice and apple juice. if the menu says 2% milk give choices of 2% and whole. Goal is see if they can read the menu and choose the correct items to place on the tray. |

COVID-19-Ways to Engage Interns
Erin Riehle
|
Hi everyone, and happy Tuesday. I had a call with Delaware teams this morning and wanted to share some of the ways that they are engaging interns during COVID-19. They had some unique ideas:
- HR at one of the host businesses is giving the interns access to the test site for applications so that they can practice filling out an application and review it as part of class.
- The school psychologist is leading a daily afternoon class called Relax, Relate and Release meant to assist with the stress of COVID-19.
- Interns are being taught to create their own daily and weekly schedules in order to maintain routine.
- One instructor is inviting guest speakers to talk about topics such as financial literacy, credit, taxes, and online banking.
- One instructor has scheduled office hours by request, encouraging interns to set up appointments.
- Another instructor has created a YouTube playlist of videos for the interns to watch.
Finally, all of the instructors recognized that some of the interns are struggling with how to email. We will be looking at this as an important curriculum idea moving forward.
Thanks to all of you for everything you're doing. Be safe! Erin |

Opportunity for skills trainers, job coaches

Hello Erin, It was such a pleasure speaking with you yesterday. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to chat, and for your willingness to distribute my research activity across skills trainers within Project SEARCH. I have attached my research poster with some summarized information about the study and participant eligibility, and this link is what participants would use to access the ranking activity: https://app.qmethodsoftware.com/study/4341. An implied consent form is presented first for participants to agree to continue/choose to discontinue. At the end of the ranking activity, participants are provided with a thank-you text with links to access the assessment tool and acceptability surveys. Please let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to speak to any interested participants if they have further questions before agreeing to complete these activities. Thank you again Erin and I hope to stay connected! Best, Marina |
