Shawna, After reviewing these I would also ask how they feel about "Dignity of Risk". That way you get a feel for them working with SE individuals and permitting them to make choices given all the information |

We work with the adult population in Knoxville TN. We have 2 assessment days. One is focused on the skills needed in many departments and individual interviews with both the parents and the interns individually. Then the second assessment is more of a classroom type response as well as a social experiment with the interns functioning in the cafeteria. How do they handle money? How do they handle a making a decision about the drink they want? Can they go through a cafeteria line and pay for the drink, then get the receipt and change. After they get a drink, they have a choice of where to sit(we have our business partners and job coaches sit throughout the cafeteria). Then we are watching for anxiety, ease of a social setting, do they talk. I like having one on one time as well as seeing how they interreact with one another in a social setting. The money issue lets us know how much we need to help with decision making or the knowledge of handling currency. Sure hope this helps! |
