We are looking for suggestions of tasks interns can complete when working with the maintenance/plant ops/grounds keeping departments. If you your facility hosts interns in these areas, what are some things they do?

At our host facility, we have a rotation in the grounds keeping department. Some of the tasks that our interns do are: remove dead flowers, vacuum up leaves, shovel snow, sprinkle salt on sidewalks, and help plant flowers in the spring to mention a few.. They also help maintain company vehicles by washing and waxing them.

We also had one assist in that department. In addition to the list mentioned above, our facility uses a power washer to spray sidewalks and equipment that gets dirty and they trained one of interns to assist with that. Also, they would gather some of the outside trash out of the bins and check for any trash that was just in the yard.
