They were responsible for: Collect deliveries of medical supply items from receiving, unpack packages and check the integrity of items. Put medical supplies away and rotate supplies by expiration dates. Files inventory and order related documentation. Porter supplies onto various hospital floors as needed. Return empty cardboard boxes to the receiving area for breakdown and recycling.

Mindy Ritchie Posts: 8 11/8/2021	Mindy Ritchie Posts: 8 We have two that heave been hired in the past for SPD. They were responsible for making and wrapping the mayo and the Neuro trays. They also got the opportunity to go into the Sterile room and clean the supplies by hand then put into the sterilize. Down time tasks included cleaning work areas, looking through expiration dates (If they found any they would have to log it).

Deb Baker-Moody Posts: 7 11/17/2021	Deb Baker-Moody Posts: 7 We have an intern checking nursing sets for expiration dates and restocking missing items, then the label it and put it back on the shelf. We had an intern wrapping basin sets for surgery, but they moved to disposable sets.

Holly Opatick Posts: 99 11/25/2021	Holly Opatick Posts: 99 Sterile Processing Department tasks include Case Cart Prepping/Washing Dirty and Clean room cart responsibilities Remove case cart items after surgeries and prep carts for washer Remove carts from washer and dry them Remove items from the instrument washers and place on proper shelf Dry and organize containers Other Sterile Processing tasks Deliver supplies to SPD department Restock returned supplies Pick instruments and supplies for surgery (case carts) Wrap items prior to sterilization.
