Happy Holidays! Wondered if anyone is teaching topics on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion? If so, are you willing to share your ideas, topics and activities? We are working to create a new DEI curriculum and would love to hear your ideas and expertise.

We use our training on Sexual Harassment in the workplace training to introduce and train on these topics. We also discuss these in our self-advocacy training sessions.

Hi, I created a picture quiz of famous people who have visible and hidden disabilities. I put the images around the room and ask the interns to mark on a sheet if they know who the celebrity is, if they have a disability and if so what that disability is. We then chat about how the celebrity may be affected or treated differently to others in a similar role and move on to how the interns feel about how they have been treated. I do also include this in Self advocacy and barriers to work.

If anyone is helping community entities, such as museums, public hiking trails, libraries, movie theateres, public pools, beach, etc. how to be disability friendly-more inclusive, I'd like to hear about how and where you you are doing this. Thanks!
