Enlisting in Military

Posts: 1/13/2023	Posts: One of my interns has finally passed the ASVAB and completed his physical to enlist in the Marines. How do I enter this into the portal? Thanks,

The answer depends on whether or not the intern completed (or nearly completed) the Project SEARCH program and then enlisted or if they withdrew well before completion to enlist. If they completed Project SEARCH, or enough of the program that you think their experience in PS contributed to their ability to qualify for the Marines, you could record the enlistment as employment. If they withdrew early in the PS year, I would mark them as withdrawn and choose "Other" as the reason, and then indicate in the text box that they enlisted in the Marines. -- Maryellen Daston
