Hi all,

We have an intern at one of our PS sites that has very limited vision. Can any of you give me any tasks that you do with someone similar? At this site, we have a lot of office jobs, and that just does not suit him well. For his first rotation, he completed a housekeeping internship. We are struggling to figure out something for the next two rotations. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Last year one of my interns had visual limitations, our host site is at a hospital. The departments he participated in were the Welcome Desk, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (he did struggle here because he couldn't see the equipment well enough to clean it independently), Grounds keeping/Greenhouse and one of the Orthopedic Units. He was able to give directions and escort patients/visitors, he stocked the supply carts for Ortho and assisted staff in the greenhouse in getting ready for spring.

Elizabeth & Paul, Happy almost Thanksgiving! If you could email me bonnieseery@gmail.com I will connect you with our Georgia Academy for the Blind. We had a fun Zoom meeting sharing with Wisconsin recently. They have a great group!
