Completed the first virtual open house for our program. Want to share with everyone. We hosted an online event, promoted it for weeks, sent out messages and to all the schools. I met with the key players over Zoom and they gave their introductions and their part in the program. I embedded their videos into the presentation I was showing. I created a QR code to send out to everyone so they could easily access the webpage where they would find the link for the meeting and the online applications. So far we have had great success from it. I also had someone online with me during the zoom answering any questions that were sent via the chat on the zoom open house.

I did have a hiccup where I forgot to unmute myself after the first set of videos were shown. Ooops... Always room for messing up! I have included my flyer I was sharing.

Has any one had trouble with students coming from private or charter schools and not being able to come to the program? Im looking for a workaround for these types of schools. |

Hi Melissa,
I give gifts every year to our interns at Graduation. We’ve done the portfolios from the PS store, last year we had soft blankets with the PS logo on it. That was a BIG hit. We have done draw sting bags with their names embroidered on them. One year we framed a class picture and the host site had a ton of goodies they put in a bag. We e done a first day of work starter kits with toiletries, we found out what they liked, and a schedule book with nice pens and fun stuff. |
