1/28/2021 Topic: Pharmacy Internships Heather Malone	We had one student complete the process to be a certified pharmacy technician in training in order to be able to work in the pharmacy. This required an application process, a fee of $50.00, a background check and fingerprinting. The whole process to obtain this certificate took about a month, so plan accordingly. We are in Texas, but I do not think this changes state to state as I believe this is a national certification. My intern chose not to remain in the pharmacy but if they wanted to pursue a career in this direction, they have two years to study for the test to become officially certified. (It requires some fairly complex math skills.)

3/8/2021 Topic: Maintenance/Groundskeeping Heather Malone	We also had one assist in that department. In addition to the list mentioned above, our facility uses a power washer to spray sidewalks and equipment that gets dirty and they trained one of interns to assist with that. Also, they would gather some of the outside trash out of the bins and check for any trash that was just in the yard. edited by Heather.Malone@amaisd.org on 3/8/2021

9/15/2022 Topic: Externships Heather Malone	I am wondering what all "chain" retail stores have been open to hosting an intern for an externship for your sites in the US. Every year, I have interns who would like retail experience. I find it is nice to mention when other areas have been open to the idea within the same corporation.
