How are you handling EPM's if your interns are not working with mentors? At the present time we are unable to be onsite and unfortunately we don't have mentors from the site to work with.

Lesson Question on the Reading Grocery Ads

It would be helpful if a copy of the ad used to do this lesson was posted. I ask this because question question #5 ask how much 40 chicken drummies cost. I have a vague idea of what chicken drummies might be but I have no idea how they are sold. If I could see the ad, it would allow me a better idea how to adapt that question to the ad I have. Thanks

At NTACT's events webpage https://transitionta.org/events-details you can find links to the past events so you can see them. Also several have lots and lots of great resources attached.

I'm looking for a website that has not only pictorial representations of career clusters, but also the jobs within those clusters. I think it would be useful for our interns that struggle with reading.

Here is a great online tool to help with Budgeting. It's out of Ireland so it is in English You'll just have to use either pounds or euros for the money but otherwise it works well. https://natwest.mymoneysense.com/students/students-12-16/the-budget-game/

Interns at 2 different sites

Under normal conditions, here at Dow Freeport, we have rotations scattered out over Dow's entire facility which stretches for over 15 miles from end to end. It is part of our normal routine. Our daily schedule looks a little different as well because most employees at Dow either work four 10 hour days or they have every other Friday off. For that reason, under normal circumstances, our interns would go directly to their rotations right after they arrive at our classroom Mon - Thurs and then we spend all day Friday in the classroom. The beauty of it is, that it allows for us to do things like practice utilizing public transportation and participate in events sponsored by local support services and other community events/classes without having to worry about cramming things into an hour so that the interns can get to their rotations.

Diane, Many of the Project SEARCH Dow locations have met and plan on continuing to do so via zoom in order to collaborate. We are certainly open to meeting with you and presenting things from a manufacturing based site.

Payroll4Free.com is a free system so that you can set up "paychecks" for your interns to use. It even takes care of the Tax deductions.

Does anyone have a good resource on age appropriate social stories? I have found a great many, however, they seem to be geared towards much younger students. I am looking for some good stories about social skills (minding your own business, not butting in to conversations, treating others respectfully, etc.) Thanks
