Representing IL at our CDH/Delnor/Woodstock sites. We've received guidance from the Director of HR of our host sites that we have not been forgotten, but ultimately can't commit to a timely onboarding or a first round internship. Using this information, we've created contingency plans based off of different scenarios which include a late start (out of school programs), remote learning for internship 1 (in and out of school), and temporary alternative host site (last resort). We are continuing with our selection timeline as usual, but letting the applicants know that we do have alternative plans that may not look like what the program was marketed as. We want to be as transparent as possible without leaving them feel uncertain. This is especially important for applicants who are accepting a diploma to attend our out of school programs (who still have some transition years left). Ultimately, it is a waiting game at this point. Looking forward to seeing the contingency document put forth by PS. |

EPMs are going well via phone conference and Zoom, but it's not as intern led as in the classroom. Many families have expressed concerns with working during and after the shelter in place order. We continue to meet daily with the interns (until graduation) to review job readiness content. After that, they will work 1:1 with skills trainers to secure a competitive placement when they're ready. We have our final EPMs on the 18th and 19th. |

Hi there!
We are starting up a fourth program at our host business. I've been fortunate to work at 2 of the current 3, so have an idea of what is needed. We've asked for lockers, a fridge (for intern's lunches), tables (where height can be adjusted to accommodate), tv and connected workstation, multifunction printer, a clock, whiteboard, 3 dedicated computer stations for the interns, and an office for 3 staff members. The CRP will be providing supplies such as paper, writing utensils, scissors, calculators, etc. We are most likely getting laptops for the intern's to use (on host wifi, not network). However, with everything going on with COVID-19, our classroom build out has been delayed. Because of that, we've secured a temporary conference room to use until construction can resume. |

Hi everyone,
Let's talk about BAC's. I've perused the Toolkit and found great resources there. I'd like to hear from sites about starting a BAC, best practices, wish-I would-have's, barriers, lessons learned, etc. Our program is in it's inaugural year, so I want to make strong connections in our community. Luckily, I've been with other sites for about three years, so I'm not unfamiliar with the Program. Our other sites do not have BAC's, so I'm hoping that sites can share some insight with me.

Last year, our host site rented an ice cream truck, and we had an ice cream social! It was a great way to get to know the interns and their families. |
