I am going to do the Project Search training this Monday from 3-5 through this website. I am looking forward to understanding how to utilize this assessment tool and incorporate the knowledge into enriching the intern's outcome.

8/16/2022 Topic: classroom time Beth Edwards	I am a first year PS Instructor with 25 years teaching experience. I take the years curriculum and place in a 3 ring binder in transparent pages. I highlight according to Orientation, Workshop week, and each rotation a separate color. This way I know topic orders at a glance because the curriculum naturally builds upon layers of information. I use differentiation methods with short quick reminders when teaching. I have found that matching topics to the interns concerns when possible solidifies learning for some, it becomes "real" to them and they internalize the information better.

10/26/2022 Topic: Consequences for Negative Behaviors Beth Edwards	We ended up with an intern like this and we had to break day into 30 minute segments. The job coach, manager, or Instructor one checked on them every 30 minutes for a week. Then we sat everybody down for lesson on time theft. After the lesson, we pulled the intern away and gave him copies of the notes from several parties over a week. He had to explain each thirty to us and rather or not he was on task. Then asked him what he would do with an employee that was stealing time from his company.

2/28/2023 Topic: Lunch Break Beth Edwards	We broke down lunch into 30 minutes and drew it on board so they have a visual and let interns say how long they like to eat (15) so we mark 15 minutes in red. Then they discuss how much time they have for travel, bathroom, return to work, wait in line, pack; we work out every different scenario so they can see. This ends in a great conversation about things that can happen!

I have not used PASS but I have heard others talk about it. We encourage businesses about the tax credit for hiring people with disabilities.

4/24/2024 Topic: Parent Support Beth Edwards	I had a dad that once said he cant start until I talk to the manager. We simply asked if his dad did this for him? Then followed with "Dignity of Risk" discussion. We have to allow them to fail or they might just succeed and go beyond.
